The Britten Oboe Quartet will be performing music by Thea Musgrave, Franz Schubert, traditional Danish, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and J S Bach in Richmond later this month.
The event is part of the Richmondshire Subscription Concert series.
The Britten Oboe Quartet will present a collection of masterpieces and lesser-known works for the unusual combination of oboe with string trio.
Highlights will include Thea Musgrave’s Cantilena, commissioned in 2008, and the Sønderho Bridal Trilogy, a set of three traditional Danish wedding folk tunes from the village of Sønderho in western Denmark.
The concert ends with an arrangement of the extraordinarily beautiful Aria “Aus Liebe” from Bach’s Matthew Passion.
The concert is at Richmond School, Darlington Road, Richmond at 7.30pm on Saturday, November 18.
