Police are appealing for information after thieves broke into a Dales pub and stole a large quantity of food.
North Yorkshire Police say they were contacted at 10.45am on Saturday to a report of a burglary at the Blue Lion Inn in East Witton.
At some point overnight thieves had gained entry to the pub through a window.
Once inside they stole a large quantity of meat products and other food items.
these included a pack of bacon, whole pork joint, pack of sausages, lamb rumps, whole chickens, several bottles of cooking wine and Black Sheep Beer.
They also took drum of olive oil.
A spokeswoman for North Yorkshire Police said: “Officers are appealing for information to assist their enquiries.
“They would like to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicions on the evening in question in the vicinity of the pub to contact them.
“They’d also like to hear from anyone who may have been offered these items for sale.”
A spokesperson for the Blue Lion confirmed the business was open as usual despite the theft.
