Businesses are wanted to support a project to deliver a ‘goody bag’ to NHS staff and vulnerable residents in the Dales.

More than 1,000 bags are to be distributed as part of the Group Hug — We Will Meet Again project.

The bags will include eggs, milk, cheese, chocolates and biscuits.

They will also feature messages of hope and good will from a number of local organisations, poetry from residents and a copy of Richmondshire Today Magazine.

Organiser Jonathan Greenwood funded the first 250 bags through his own funds.

Businesses have already donated a further £800. However, in total he needs to raise another £800 to complete the project.

Jonathan is asking local businesses to pay £25 for a coupon which will go into each bag.

The coupons are based on the theme of  We Will Meet Again and could include the promise of a discount off services or a free gift to be claimed once the lockdown is over.

Jonathan said: “This is not an advertisement in the traditional sense of the word, but it is planned as a collection of offers or discounts to bring people back into your business when social distancing rules are relaxed and people can move freely about again.

“If you don’t want to include an offer, then you can just include a tip, a hint or some words of support or inspiration.

“The voucher would include a quarter page space featuring your logo and your offer.”

To include a coupon in the goody bags, visit to make a £25 donation.

Businesses should leave their name when make the donation.

Donations need to be made by the weekend so that the bags can be delivered soon.

They then need to email or call 07507315721.
