Campbell’s of Leyburn has reached the final of the prestigious Farm Shop & Deli Awards 2019.
The Leyburn store has been shortlisted in the Village Store/Shop Local category.
The 2019 judging panel of industry experts met up last November in London for a day of evaluation and deliberation.
Secret visits and mystery shops followed over the next three months to finalise the shortlist.
Chair of judges and food and drink journalist and broadcaster Nigel Barden said: “I am delighted to continue to be involved with the Farm Shop & Deli Awards.
“It’s a fabulous initiative for the sector and offers the best way to recognise and reward excellence for the UK’s local, artisan and high street speciality retailers
“These awards are so important for the industry. One really big factor is the quality of judges. They’re really right across the board from retailers, from producers from food and drink journalists.”
Kath Campbell, owner of Campbell’s, added: “I am delighted that our store has been shortlisted in the finals of these awards.
“We celebrated our 150th year of trading last year, this is quite some achievement for an independent retailer in such a competitive sector.
“I am grateful to all of our wonderful staff, suppliers and customers for their contribution to our success. ”
Winners will be revealed live at the Farm Shop & Deli Show on Monday, April 8 at the NEC in Birmingham.
