Firefighters were called to a moorland fire near Reeth after a campfire believed to have been started by youths set heather alight.
A crew from Reeth Fire Station was called to Arkengarthdale Road at 9.37pm on Saturday.
On arrival, firefighters found a campfire had spread to surrounding heather on the moor.
The crew used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire before leaving the scene in the care of a gamekeeper, who was waiting for North Yorkshire Police to attend.
