A woman has been arrested after a cannabis grow was found in a Richmond house.
North Yorkshire Police say a police officer and a PCSO attended the property on Lyons Road, in the Garden Village, at 4.48pm on Tuesday following concerns for the safety of an occupant.
This initially resulted in a woman aged in her late 50s receiving treatment from the ambulance service for a minor hand injury.
However, officers noticed a strong smell of cannabis in the property.
Cannabis plants and associated cultivation equipment were located in another room.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “A full search was conducted at the property by the operations support unit and all the suspicious items have been seized as part of the ongoing investigation.
“A 26-year-old woman from Richmond was arrested at the scene on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of cannabis.
“Following questioning in custody overnight, she was released under investigation while enquiries continue.”
Anyone with information that could assist the investigation, including any recent suspicious behaviour on and around the Lyons Road area of Richmond, are urged to come forward as soon as possible.
