
The police were called after a car crashed in Leyburn town centre last night.
The incident happened just after 11pm.
The car left the road, crashed through two signposts and a bollard and came to rest by a plant pot outside Serendipity.
A man was arrested at the scene however they were later released with no further action.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police confirmed officers were called to the incident.
A spokesperson added: “We can confirm that a man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of drink driving following a single-vehicle collision in Leyburn at around 11.10pm yesterday.
“He was taken into custody and later released with no further action.”
Police added that while the man initially failed a roadside breath test, this test is not evidential and the detainee later blew under the legal drink drive limit during the second, evidential breath test.
