A spokesman for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said they were called at around 10.05pm.

They used manpower to turn the vehicle, which was on its side, the right way up and left the incident in the hands of the police.

Nobody was with the vehicle when emergency services arrived, the spokesman said.

This morning, Victoria’s Lingerie shop front has been boarded up due to damage, while there is also limited damage to stonework the former HSBC building.
