Police are appealing for information after the tyres of a parked vehicle were slashed in Catterick Village.
The criminal damage happened overnight between Tuesday, August 11 and the early hours of Wednesday, August 12, in the Mowbray Road area.
North Yorkshire Police said the front and rear passenger-side tyres of the vehicle were damaged, with what officers described as distinct stab marks.
A long black stripe was also spray-painted across a hedge at the front of the property.
Officers are asking anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area at the time to come forward.
They would also like to hear from residents with CCTV which may have captured the incident or suspicious activity nearby before or afterwards.
