Trustees of Colburn Village Hall have issued an appeal for tradespeople to carry out repairs after they received a cash windfall from the Co-op.
The hall received £1,403.02 after shoppers at the Co-op in Colburn voted for the good cause to receive money from the shop’s local community fund.
The money will be put towards a new wall around the hall’s garden.

Other work is being planned including rewiring and floor repairs.
Angie Dale, from the village hall, said they wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who shopped at the store and who chose the venue as their chosen charity.
She added: “This money will be used in the garden as we are going to have a new brick wall built.
“As we feel as a group that it is starting to look a wee bit tired and lets the building down.
“On another note we are actively looking for quotes for jobs that need to be carried out within the hall.
“We love to use local people and labour where we can. If anyone is interested and holds all the correct insurances etc please give us a a quote.”
