Castle Walk in Richmond has been temporarily closed after a rockfall from the castle area overnight.
English Heritage said the affected section of the popular riverside path has been closed while safety assessments are carried out.
Visitors are being urged to respect the barriers and warning signs and not attempt to access the closed area.
An English Heritage spokesperson said: “We are aware of a rockfall from the castle area onto the nearby Castle Walk which occurred overnight.
“The affected area has been temporarily closed for everyone’s safety and we ask visitors to please respect the barriers and signage and not attempt to access the affected section of the path.
“We are working with the relevant authorities and will provide further updates once we know when it is safe for the path to reopen.
“Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.”
