Catering couple find ‘forever home’ in Richmond

Mick and Wendy Robinson run Granny's Kitchen.

A catering couple say they have found their ‘forever home’ after moving into new premises in Richmond.

Granny’s Kitchen has moved to a shop formerly knows as the Coffee Bean in the town’s Finkle Street.

The cafe and shop is run by Mick and Wendy Robinson, who started with a store in Darlington before selling their products on local markets.

They then operated from premises in Castle Hill for a short period.

As well as making their own speciality pork pies, cake and bread, they also stock a range of locally made produce, including jams and chutneys, fudge, chilli sauces, eggs, Yorkshire rapeseed oil, local honey and more.

Wendy said: “We’ve now found our forever home.

“When we looked at the building, it hadn’t been touched for approximately 20 years.

“We had a lot of renovation to do. We’ve done most of it, with some finishing touches still to complete.

“We are super happy with how things are going and the memories people keep telling us of when it was The Coffee Bean. It’s such an interesting and quirky building – we love it.”
