Catterick Racecourse will stage one of the highlights of its Flat season later this month when some of the fastest sprinters compete for a £30,000 prize fund.
The William Hill Catterick Dash will headline a seven-race card on Saturday, October 17, with racegoers also able to watch live coverage of Champions Day at Ascot.
The meeting returns to its usual afternoon slot, with gates opening at 11.30am and the first race, the EBF “Confined” Restricted Maiden Stakes, getting underway at 1.35pm.
The feature Catterick Dash is scheduled for 4.45pm.
Run over five furlongs, the sprint is Catterick’s richest race of the season and is expected to attract a strong field of speedy horses.
The final race at 5.15pm will be the Go Racing in Yorkshire Future Stars Apprentice Handicap Stakes.
It is the penultimate race in a series designed to showcase emerging jockey talent in the region, with Connor Whiteley currently leading the standings ahead of the finale at Doncaster three weeks later.
Away from the track, the action from Champions Day at Ascot will be shown on big screens and televisions around the racecourse.
Singer-songwriter Elena Larkin will also perform live throughout the afternoon outside Longshots Sports Bar.
Emma Stevenson, general commercial manager at Catterick Racecourse, said: “The William Hill Catterick Dash is one of the highlights of our season.
“Together with the excitement of Champions Day at Ascot and the Future Stars Apprentice Series, it promises to be a fantastic afternoon for racegoers and we’re looking forward to welcoming them to the course.”
The meeting is the penultimate fixture of Catterick’s 2026 Flat season, with the Flat Finale taking place on Tuesday, October 27.
With just two meetings remaining, the race for the course’s end-of-season titles is also taking shape.
Tim Easterby leads the trainers’ standings with 12 victories after recording back-to-back trebles at Catterick’s September meetings.
David Allan heads the jockeys’ championship with 11 wins, ahead of Jason Hart on eight, while URSA Major Racing Ltd leads the owners’ standings with four victories, a second and a third.
The October 27 finale falls during the half-term holidays, with accompanied under-18s admitted free to Catterick fixtures.
Hospitality is available in the Winning Streak Restaurant, while advance and group discounts are available until 48 hours before each meeting.
