Catterick Garrison bar announces it is closing for good

A Catterick Garrison bar is set to remain shut after its temporary closure last week.

The closure of KOKO/Kabana was announced this evening on its Facebook page.

The bar said last week that it was closing temporarily for personal reasons, but it is now set to stay shut.

This story continues after the adverts:

Tonight’s statement said: “Just wanted to keep everyone in the know about what’s going on with the bar.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances we have decided as a family it is for the best that we remain closed for good.

“Myself and the bar staff (old and new) would like to thank everyone for there positive support for the past almost two years, we have some great memories that we will have forever.”

Two people were arrested after police raided the bar last month.

A 45-year-old woman from Brompton-on-Swale and a 38-year-old man from Colburn were arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class A drug – cocaine – and supply of a controlled drug of Class A, also cocaine.

Both were released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Director Andrea Hornsby, director of KOKO/Kabana Sports Bar, said at the time that those arrested were a member of the public and an off-duty member of staff.
