Catterick Garrison mother and daughter donate hair to charity

A four-year-old and her mum have donated their hair to help less fortunate children.

Maia, from Catterick Garrison, had 12 inches cut off and donate it to the Little Princess Trust, which makes wigs for children who have lost their own hair.

Mum Bethany Jefferson showed her support by having her hair shaved off, also losing around 12 inches.

Supporters have so far donated more than £680 towards the charity, smashing the target of £550 — the cost of making a real hair wig.

Maia did a bake sale bringing in an extra £54 with cakes donated by Angels Share Bakery in Richmond, with Bethany’s sister-in-law raffling off a cake for £50.

The pair had their hair cut off at Lesley Charles Hairdressing in Darlington.
