A four-year-old and her mum are donating their hair to help less fortunate children.
Maia, from Catterick Garrison, has decided to have eight inches cut off and donate it to the Little Princess Trust, which makes wigs for children who have lost their own hair.
And mum Bethany Jefferson has decided to show her support by having her hair shaved off!
She said: “Maia has decided to cut and donate eight inches of her beautiful golden hair to the Little Princess Trust.
“To show my support to the charity and Maia I have decided to cut and donate as much of my hair as possible, then shave my head completely — I have donated my hair twice before but never this short!
“We are hoping to raise enough money to cover the cost of making a real hair wig which is around £550.
“Thank you to everyone who has already donated.”
The pair will have their hair cut off on February 18 at Lesley Charles Hairdressing in Darlington.
