Catterick Garrison residents have been urged to be vigilant and keep valuables out of sight after recent reports of suspicious behaviour in the town.
Richmondshire police say they have received several reports of suspicious activity recently.
A spokesperson said: “North Yorkshire Police would like to remind residents local to Catterick Garrison to remain vigilant and to keep valuables secure and out of sight.
“In order to prevent opportunistic burglaries it is advisable that you keep your doors and windows secure at all times.
“Please make sure that you also lock away any bicycles or other items of value that are left outside indoors or in a secure outbuilding.”
Police have urged residents to report any any suspicious activity as soon as practically possible via the 101 telephone number or in an emergency on 999.
