Catterick Garrison social club launches appeal for roof repairs

A Catterick Garrison social club has launched an appeal to raise £20,000 to pay for repairs to its roof.

Travaux Sports and Social Club, in Dane Road, Hipswell, has started a crowdfunding campaign to raise the money.

The club said in a post online: “We here at the Travaux Sports and Social Club are raising money to repair our roof.

“The Travaux Club has been a part of the Catterick Garrison social scene for 49 years, and like all good things it’s in need of some general repairs to help see us through the next 49 years.”

As well as being a sports and social venue, the club says a large number of community events are held at the premises including Slimming World, dance classes, The Royal British Legion, military functions and bingo.

It adds: “We also boast hosting and supporting football, darts, rugby and pool teams participating in the local leagues.

“We need as many people as possible to help, donate and get involved to build up our fund to allow us to repair our roof in order to serve the community for another 49 years.”
