A Catterick Garrison teenager is to ride 135km between local fire stations to raise money for charity.
Dean Cunningham, 16, will take on the challenge on behalf of the Fire Fighters Charity and the local fire cadets.
Dean said: “I have been a fire cadet for close to two years and plan on joining the service as soon as I am old enough. I am also a cyclist and member of Richmond Cycling Club.
“I decided that for my last year in fire cadets, I wanted to leave a lasting positive impact on the organisation, the young people lucky enough to be in it, and the firefighters that are aided by the firefighter’s charity every single day.
“So I will be riding a 135km route with a team of experienced cyclists to a large selection of rural fire stations local to me so I can raise as much money as possible for these amazing causes.
Dean will start at Richmond Fire Station and pass Reeth, Leyburn , Masham, Ripon, Thirsk, Northallerton and Colburn fire stations before heading back to Richmond.
He will take on the challenge on May 31.
