Catterick Golf Club has raised more than £3,600 to help communities affected by devastating flooding in Nepal.
The club’s Nepal Flood Disaster Charity Golf Open, held on Sunday, September 20, raised a total of £3,673.99.
Golfers from across the region took part in the fundraising event, which was played as a team-of-three Texas Scramble.
All entry fees from the competition were donated to the appeal to support communities affected by the disaster.
Organisers said the event received strong backing from club members, visiting golfers and local businesses.
A raffle also helped boost the final total, with businesses donating prizes for the fundraising effort.
A spokesperson for Catterick Golf Club thanked everyone who had helped make the event a success, including those who played, volunteered, provided raffle prizes or made donations.
The club said: “The final total of £3,673.99 is a fantastic achievement and demonstrates the generosity of everyone involved.”
There was also plenty of competition on the course, with Peter Latham, Christopher Heap and David Handsen taking first place.
The trio recorded a score of 56 to win the Texas Scramble.
The club also congratulated the other teams which took part and those who won prizes in the raffle.
The full amount raised will now be donated to support communities affected by the flooding in Nepal.
