Catterick nursery staff to sleep out to help homeless

Staff from Banana Moon Day Nursery in Catterick Garrison will sleep out in the nursery’s garden to raise awareness about homelessness and combat stress.

The nursery is working with local PCSO Nicole Randall on the initiative.

On Friday, November 26, staff will camp out with only a sleeping bag from 7pm to 7am.

Nursery manager Jayne said: “It’s going to be a challenge, but it’s a great way to understand some of the realities that homeless people face.”

The nursery are raising money for the local homeless community and veteran’s mental health charity Combat Stress.

The nursery will also hold their Christmas fair on Saturday, November 27 with all money raised going to the two good causes.

PCSO Nicole Randall said: “I am delighted to be helping support such a worthy cause to raise awareness around homelessness and combat stress.”
