Catterick Racecourse is preparing for one of the highlights of its calendar — the William Hill Catterick Dash — on Saturday, October 18, promising a packed day of racing and live entertainment as the 2025 Flat Season nears its conclusion.

Gates open at 10am, with the first of seven races off at 11am. The feature race, the William Hill Catterick Dash, goes to post at 1.20pm, boasting a prize fund of £30,000 and attracting some of the UK’s fastest sprinters.

The final race, the William Hill Each Way Extra Veterans’ Handicap Stakes, runs at 1.55pm.

Although the live racing wraps up early, racegoers can continue the excitement until around 5pm, with full live coverage of Champions Day from Ascot shown on big screens and TVs across the course.

The day begins with the penultimate round of the Go Racing in Yorkshire Future Stars Apprentice Series, shining a spotlight on the region’s rising jockeys, with Mason Paetel currently topping the leaderboard.

Off the track, visitors can enjoy live music from singer-songwriter Elena Larkin, performing throughout the day outside Longshots Sports Bar.

Emma Stevenson, general commercial manager at Catterick Racecourse, said: “We’re excited to welcome racegoers for one of the highlights of our season. With the William Hill Catterick Dash, apprentice action, and live Champions Day coverage, there’s something for every racing fan.”

This fixture marks the penultimate raceday of Catterick’s Flat Season, with the finale set for Tuesday, October 28 — a half-term event ideal for families, with free entry for all under-18s.

The final meeting will also decide the 2025 Flat Champion Trainer, Jockey and Owner titles. Tim Easterby currently leads the trainer standings with 11 wins, while the jockeys’ race remains tight, with Callum Rodriguez on six wins and Jason Hart, Sean Kirrane, and David Allan all close behind on five. The Micky Hammond Owners Group leads the owners’ category with three victories.

Hospitality packages are available in the Winning Streak Restaurant, offering lunch and panoramic views of the track and parade ring.

Advance and group discounts are available up to 48 hours before raceday.

Tickets can be booked via www.catterickbridge.co.uk or by calling 01748 811478, and will also be available on the gate. Concessions for students, over-65s, and military personnel are available both in advance and on the day.
