Catterick Village Junior Football Club’s U12s are celebrating a treble-winning season.
The team won the Harrogate & District U12s League B Division title back in February which was played on Sundays.
They followed up this success by winning the Hambleton and Richmondshire U12s premier league title which was played on Saturdays.
They then finished the season last Sunday when they beat Ripon City in Hambleton and Richmondshire league cup final.
Lead coach Jason Thompson said: “For the past three seasons this group Catterick Village players and several others not pictured have had great success in winning league titles and cups, but this past season as U12s they have topped it all by completing a treble winning season.
“It has been a fantastic season for the U12s squad. We already had a very strong and successful group of players that had built up a reputation for playing excellent passing football having been together for five seasons.
“Then several Leyburn and Richmond Town players came to join us when they were sadly left without a club last summer.
“This enabled us to run two teams, giving more game time to our development players and saw us increase training to twice a week with a Leeds United Academy coach joining our coaching team. This greatly helped to further develop players and integrate our new signings and we also managed to beat Leeds United’s Development Team along the way.
“Next season we are still looking for new players with the sad loss of our top scorer Shuvam Gurung who is moving South as his father is being re-posted by the Army after six fantastic seasons with the club.
“Also our friends from Leyburn will sadly be going back to Leyburn JFC as they will be reforming as a U13s team now that several new players have shown interest making it viable for them to have a team again.
“So CVJFC U12/U13’s would welcome some new players if there are any out there looking for a new club please get in touch http://www.catterickvillagejfc.net/“
