Catterick Village pub hands over selection boxes to hospital

More than 250 selection boxes have been donated to the A&E unit at Darlington Memorial Hospital.

Craig and Lucy Dickinson, from the Bay Horse, in Catterick Village, launched the appeal for people to donate chocolate in the run up to the festive period.

The aim was to provide a treat for children who find themselves in hospital at Christmas.

Craig said: “They will be given out to every child that unfortunately has to attend on Christmas Day.

“Luckily I’ve never had to experience Christmas in hospital, but for a young child it must be awful.”

The pub has also recently handed over £1,145 for St Anne’s Church in  the village.

The money was raised through various charity events, and a bucket on the bar, which have taken place since St George’s day.
