A Catterick Village pub has launched an appeal to provide a treat for children who find themselves in hospital at Christmas.

Craig and Lucy Dickinson, from the Bay Horse, are asking people to donate selection boxes in the run up to the festive period.

All selection boxes donated will be taken through to Darlington Memorial Hospital’s A&E department on Christmas Eve.

This story continues after the adverts:

Craig said: “These will be given out to every child that unfortunately has to attend on Christmas Day.

“If we receive more than required they will be sent round other departments with the help of my sister who works on A&E.”

Craig added: “Luckily I’ve never had to experience Christmas in hospital, but for a young child it must be awful.

“So let’s all club in together and help put a smile on the children’s faces.”

As well as donating selection boxes at the pub, you can also hand them to the Co-op in Catterick Village and say they are for the Bay Horse Christmas appeal.
