A charity football match has raised more than £1,000 in memory of a much-loved teacher.

Richmond Town held the game over the festive period to raise money for the Great North Air Ambulance.

The game was held in memory of former Richmond School deputy head Dave Clark who died tragically aged 59 in 2020.

It was the second year the club has held a charity game in honour of the teacher.

Paul Ramsay, from the club, said: “The majority of those involved in arranging and playing the match were former pupils of Mr Clark and all are now looking forward to making this an annual event.”
