Children mark Remembrance Day with colourful display

Children living on a Catterick Garrison estate have marked Remembrance Day with their own colourful display.

The mural has been installed at the entrance to the Woodside Chase estate.

It was the idea of local resident Beth Butterfield who worked with friend Michaela Armstrong distributed to the paper poppies for children to colour in.

They then collected them in and created the display.

Mother-of-tw0 Beth, 27, whose partner is a serving soldier, said: “We wanted to show our respect for Remembrance Day and we thought this was a great way of doing it.”

The display had been warmly received by local residents and community leaders.

Cllr Angie Dale, leader of Richmondshire District Council, said: “It looks absolutely amazing.”
