The mother says the family is devastated by the theft.

She said: “We saved up and purchased this bike her to use in her triathlon training, which she absolutely adores and puts so much effort into.

“This is her pride and joy which she rides every chance she gets and is really gutted that someone has taken it.”

The theft has been reported to the police. Anyone with information should call North Yorkshire Police on 101.

Police also say that sometime between 7.30pm and 11pm on Monday a garden shed was broken into and a black and red framed cycle was stolen from Tumbledown Close.

On the same day another cycle theft was reported to police that may have occurred anytime between June 7 and 11 in Stanley Close.

A police spokesperson said: “Please be aware that bikes are being stolen and whenever possible please try and keep them secured.”
