Two coffee mornings in Askrigg have raised £262 towards parish church funds.
Organisers say the money is vital to the upkeep of St Oswald’s which, like other parish churches, receives no money from the government or the Church of England nationally.
Local people support the church throughout the year with donations of time, skills and money, and the coffee mornings are a social event which also attract tourists and day trippers.
The next coffee morning will be on Saturday, February 2, from 10am-noon in the back room of the village hall.
