The Vehicle Group has received a corporate fundraising award from the Yorkshire Air Ambulance for its continued fundraising efforts.
The Yorkshire Air Ambulance held their North Yorkshire Recognition Awards in November at the Devonshire Fell Hotel. The finalists were handpicked by the North Yorkshire fundraising team.
The award was presented to the Vehicle Group CEO Graham Frankland and employees Paula Underwood and Kelly Strawbridge at the Vehicle Group headquarters after they were unable to attend the November event.
Over the past two years, Paula and her team have organised several Christmas raffles for colleagues and visitors, raising an impressive £7,000 for the charity.
Paula, a sales ledger clerk, has since gone on to join the Yorkshire Air Ambulance North Yorkshire volunteering team, helping out at local fundraising events and collecting tins.
Linda Stead, North Yorkshire regional fundraiser, said: “The Vehicle Group’s enthusiasm to support the Yorkshire Air Ambulance is inspirational and we are extremely grateful for Paula’s brilliant energy and assistance at our fundraising events and collections.
“The £7,000 raised will help tremendously towards the vital funding of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, in particular the rural areas of North Yorkshire where rapid emergency treatment is often required.”
Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA) serves five million people across Yorkshire and carries out over 1,800 missions every year.
The charity operates two, state-of-the-art Airbus H145 helicopters and needs to raise £12,000 every day to keep saving lives.
