“Eye tests are not only important in monitoring changes in your sight, but also act as general eye-health assessments, and we recommend people of all ages schedule one every two years at least.

“We know it can be difficult finding time amid a hectic work and family life schedule, but why not follow the example of the Corinthians and make your appointment over the summer months when you have some down time?”

Kieran Plumb. of the Colburn Corinthians. added: “As footballers, good eyesight is important every time we step on the pitch. Moreover, good health and well-being is just as important too.

“We hope that by coming together as a team for our eye tests, it will encourage and remind people across Richmondshire to make time for this important element of our regular healthcare routines.”
