A man has appeared in court charged with three counts of rape and indecently assaulting a girl.
Brett Michael Nixon, 52, appeared at York Magistrates’ Court today but wasn’t asked to enter pleas to the allegations.
His case was sent to York Crown Court where he will appear later this month.
Mr Nixon, of Blackwell Court, Colburn, is accused of three counts of raping a girl under 16 years of age between October and November 2001.
He is also charged with indecently assaulting a different girl under 16 years of age in the late 1990s.
Neither of the complainants can be named for legal reasons.
Magistrates released Mr Nixon on bail until his appearance at the Crown Court on September 28.
