A man from Colburn has been disqualified from driving after admitting drug-driving and possession offences.
Lloyd Spink, 21, of Rosebud Way, appeared at York Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, April 13, 2026.
The court heard that on December 18, 2025, Spink was stopped on Quaker Lane in Richmond, where he was found to have cocaine in his system above the legal limit while driving a white Ford Ranger.
Tests showed levels of both cocaine and its breakdown product, benzoylecgonine, exceeding the specified limits.
Spink also admitted possession of a Class A drug after being found with 0.23 grams of cocaine on the same date.
He entered guilty pleas to all offences at the first hearing.
Magistrates disqualified him from driving for 15 months and fined him £400. He was also ordered to pay £85 in prosecution costs and a £160 surcharge.
The drugs were ordered to be forfeited and destroyed. No separate penalty was imposed for the possession offence.
