Colburn Primary School held its own Royal Wedding on Friday – and Meghan Markle’s father managed to attend.
Years one and two took part in a wedding ceremony in the school hall with children playing the part of the bride and groom, and members of the Royal family.
The service was led by Keith Hall, from the King’s Church in Richmond.

After the service a reception was held for the children in the next door village by Colburn Hub and Community Cafe.
Deputy head Debbie Nicholas said the classes had been learning about the Victorians and they decided to hold their own Royal wedding to help the children understand about the present day royalty and British heritage.
Names were pulled out of a hat to allocate children to play the 14 roles, with Meghan’s father happily able to attend this ceremony to give his daughter away!
