Colburn woman given suspended sentence for assaulting police officers

A Colburn woman has been given a suspended jail sentence for assaulting two police officers.

Jenny Blues, of Beckfield Close, Colburn, appeared before magistrates in York on Monday.

The 32-year-old pleaded guilty to two charges of assaulting a police constable and a special constable in Colburn on March 31 this year.

The defendant was given a 16-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months.

She was also ordered to pay compensation of £200, a victim surcharge of £128 and costs of £85.

The court heard the defendant’s guilty pleas were taken into consideration when imposing sentence.
