Pupils, parents and staff at Le Cateau Primary School came together for a colourful day of fun and fundraising as the Friends of Le Cateau hosted a successful Colour Run.
Held on the school grounds on Friday, July 3, the event attracted families and supporters from across the school community, with participants of all ages tackling the course while being showered in brightly coloured powder at a series of checkpoints.
The event was organised by Friends of Le Cateau, the school’s fundraising group, to raise money for future projects and provide additional opportunities for pupils.
As runners crossed the finish line covered from head to toe in vibrant colours, supporters lined the route to cheer them on, creating a lively atmosphere throughout the afternoon.
Alongside the Colour Run, families enjoyed refreshments, music and a range of activities, giving the event a festival feel. Volunteers also played a key role behind the scenes, helping ensure the day ran smoothly and safely.
A spokesperson for Friends of Le Cateau said they were delighted with the response from the school community.
“The Colour Run was all about having fun, creating memories and raising valuable funds for the school. Seeing so many smiling faces covered in colour made all the hard work worthwhile,” they said.
Money raised from the event will go towards future projects and resources to benefit pupils and enhance school life.
The organisers thanked everyone who took part, volunteered or supported the event, saying the turnout demonstrated the strong community spirit surrounding the school.
Following the success of this year’s Colour Run, Friends of Le Cateau hope to build on the event in the future, with many participants already looking forward to next year’s colourful challenge.
