Community causes wanted for Co-op fund

Community organisations in Richmondshire are being invited to apply for a community fund run by the Co-op.

Every time Co-op members buy selected own branded products and services, local groups can been fit,

This year, locally Co-ops have supported in The Jonas Centre, Leyburn Arts & Community Centre and Leyburn Junior Football Club in the Leyburn areas, and Dementia Forward, Richmond Rockets Junior Football Club and 1st Richmond Rainbows in Richmond.

Zabi Dashwood, local Co-op member pioneer, said: “To help us deliver our vision of co-operating for a fairer world, we will support projects that bring people together to access food, help improve people’s mental wellbeing, create opportunities for young people to be heard and make a difference or help people protect local biodiversity or tackle climate change by reducing carbon emissions.”

Applications for the next round are open until May 29.
