Community choir produces charity video to raise money for NHS

The Dales Community Pop Choir has produced a charity video to raise money for the NHS.

Members used video conferencing app Zoom to record themselves singing Mr Blue Sky by the Electric Light Orchestra (ELO).

Choir musical director Debbie Allenby then synced the clips together to make the video.

The lyrics of the song were changed by local GP and choir member, Dr Julia Brown, to reflect the current need for social distancing.

The choir is hoping to raise £500 for the NHS Charities Together with the launch of the video.

The choir said: “Our choir of 50 members, from all backgrounds, travel from all over the Yorkshire Dales to come together weekly in Leyburn to sing, make friends and have fun.

“Unfortunately, due to the current circumstances, we are unable to get together for our weekly rehearsals in person, however, we have come together, of sorts, through the magic of Zoom.”
