Residents are being invited to come together for an afternoon and evening of family fun as an Armed Forces Day Garden Party takes place at Bramble Woods in Catterick Garrison.
The free community event will be held on Friday, 27 June, from 3pm until 8pm, at Bramble Woods, Smuts Road (DL9 3BJ). Organisers are encouraging people of all ages to bring along blankets, camping chairs and plenty of community spirit for what promises to be a relaxed celebration of Armed Forces Day.
There will be a wide range of attractions and activities throughout the afternoon, including donkey rides, a petting zoo, vintage fairground rides, lawn games and a selection of food and sweet treats. Visitors will also be able to browse stalls including the grand opening of a new Swap Shop, enjoy flavours from Jay’s Holistic Flavours, and visit the Volunteer Information Hub to find out more about getting involved in local community projects.
The event has been organised with support from Amey and the e50K Communities initiative and aims to celebrate the Armed Forces while bringing together military families, veterans and the wider local community in an informal and welcoming setting.
Armed Forces Day is an opportunity to recognise the dedication and service of the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community, from currently serving personnel to veterans, reservists and their families. Events such as the Bramble Woods Garden Party help strengthen community ties while providing a fun-filled day for everyone to enjoy.
Admission is free, and organisers hope the event will attract families from across Richmondshire and beyond for an afternoon of entertainment, friendship and celebration.
