Concert fundraiser Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team

The Jigantics.

Carperby Concerts will welcome back The Jigantics later this month after a seven-year absence.

The four piece group will perform on Saturday, March 18 at the village institute to raise money for Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team.

Steve Sheldon, from Carperby Concerts, said: “Since their last visit they’ve had a couple of personnel changes but they continue to go from strength to strength.

“If you haven’t seen them before, you’ll want to catch them this time around.”

Mark Cole, the band’s singer, said: “I guess our aim is to play songs we enjoy whether they are originals or covers and have a good time, says frontman and multi-instrumentalist.

“That mood translates to the audience too and it’s designed to be a show that sends everyone home happy.”

Other band members are Sarah Kelly, on vocals, bass and ukuleles, master guitarist and vocalist Keith Thompson and Martin Fitzgibbon (ex ColvinQuarmby) on drums, vocals and percussion.

Tickets are £15 in advance or £17 on the door.
