Council grant applications being assessed

Applications to a funding stream to help businesses with losses as a result of the coronavirus pandemic are being assessed.

Richmondshire District Council hopes to be able to start contacting successful applicants by the end of this week, with payment following soon after.

All discretionary grant scheme forms are currently being checked and where information is missing, requests are being made to business owners.

They needed to be accompanied by proof of lost income and evidence of fixed buildings related costs.

The Richmondshire District Council run scheme is aimed at businesses that were trading on March 11 have high ongoing fixed building related costs, and that can demonstrate they have suffered significant losses as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

They will not have been eligible for previous grants.

Depending on the take up from this round of aid, the council says it may decide to open a further window for applications..
