Richmondshire District Council will launch its discretionary grant scheme early next week.
It has been awarded £1,140,500 to distribute to businesses with high fixed building related expenses who have suffered losses as a result of coronavirus pandemic.
Priority will be given to businesses in shared office space, regular market traders, bed and breakfast establishments, charities and small businesses that were not eligible for the Small Business Grants scheme – and that were trading on March 11, 2020.
The scheme will award up to £25,000 in exceptional circumstances.
However, most grants will be up to £10,000 for small businesses and £5,000 for micro businesses and will be subject to businesses providing evidence of building costs and lost income.
Full details will be published on richmondshire.gov.uk along with application forms.
Online applications will be invited over a two week window ending 21 June 2020, with cross checks undertaken to deter fraudulent applications.
