Covid case confirmed at Leyburn extra care scheme

A resident of a Richmondshire extra care scheme has tested positive for the coronavirus.

Broadacres has confirmed it has had a positive test at Kirkwood Hall in Leyburn.

A spokesman for the housing association said: “One of the residents at our Kirkwood Hall sheltered housing scheme in Leyburn has tested positive for Covid-19.

“The resident is now self-isolating.

“We are working with our colleagues in North Yorkshire County Council and Public Health England to ensure all safe procedures are implemented and have also introduced additional cleaning measures.

“All the residents at Kirkwood Hall have been informed about the situation.”
