A local craftswoman will demonstrate her loom work in Reeth next week.
Between Monday 11 and Saturday 16 September, Anne Shaw Hewitt will be working on her loom in the Swaledale Museum on the green in Reeth where an exhibition of her delicate and intricate work has been on display during the summer.
The exhibition Land and Thread takes its inspiration from Anne’s exploration of and reaction to the local landscape and history, reflected in a range of textile pieces which draw on the colours and shapes, as well as the distinctive facial markings of the sheep, which she sees on her daily walks.
Even the exhibition has changed over the course of the summer as the scarves, hangings and cushions have flown off the walls to be replaced by newly created stock.
The museum is open daily from 10am to 5pm; adult entry is £3, free for children aged 12 and under.
