Fire crews were called to a late-night crash on the A1(M) near Barton.
The incident happened at 10.58pm last night on the northbound carriageway at Junction 56, Barton Interchange.
Crews from Richmond and Northallerton attended alongside colleagues from Darlington.
On arrival, all occupants of the vehicle had managed to get out safely and were already in the care of paramedics.
Firefighters made the scene safe, ensuring the vehicle posed no further risk, before handing the incident over to police.
