Cycling club to ride in memory of Richmond School teacher

Dave Clark.

Members of Richmond Cycling Club will take part in a ride tomorrow to remember former Richmond School teacher Dave Clark.

The club will meet at the obelisk in the Market Place at 8am to remember Mr Clark who was a keen cyclist.

From Richmond, the club will depart together to cycle up Swaledale.

There are three routes planned, with the shorter ride turning back at Gunnerside.

The group will then continue to Kirkby Stephen, where the medium-length ride loops around back over Tan Hill and down Arkengarthdale, while the longer ride goes to the Eden Valley, to Alston, back down Teesdale to Barnard Castle and to Richmond.

Mr Clark died in 2020 after being charged by cows while walking on a footpath near the town.
