Dads invited into Stapleton nursery ahead of Father’s Day

Jack Graham, aged 2, scores a penalty against his dad Chris.

Children at a farm-based nursery got their kicks from seeing their dads at a special Father’s Day event.

Youngsters in the toddler room at High Bank Day Nursery in Stapleton, wanted to do something to thank their amazing dads, so they were invited to the nursery to take part in a football-themed afternoon.

This culminated in a penalty shoot-out competition which, not surprisingly, was won by the children.

Nursery manager Hayley Grainger said: “We invited the mum’s in for Mother’s Day, so we thought it was only right to have a day for the dad’s too.

“The dads from the toddler room really enjoyed coming in to spend some quality time with their children at the nursery and the penalty shoot-out was certainly the highlight.”

The children in the nursery have also made cards for their dads to open on Sunday.
