Aysgarth Church will be doing things very differently on Sunday as it embraces both the old and new ways of worship.
At 9.30am there will be a Penhill Benefice service of Holy Communion using the older words of the Book of Common Prayer, and from 4pm until 6pm it will be holding its first Messy Church.
Reverend Tom Ringland said: “The benefice has a pattern of doing things differently on the fifth Sunday in the month.
“The Penhill Praise service will use the fun format of the popular Messy Church events promoted by the Bible Reading Fellowship.
“We’ll explore the [biblical] account of the feeding of the 5000 through crafts and a short time of celebration before, in true ‘messy church’ style, finishing with food together.
“With Covid concerns ongoing, this time we are asking people to come with their own picnics. Hopefully it will be nice enough to find some space out of doors to enjoy this, but the wet weather alternative will be in the church.”
All are welcome to both events.
