Members of the Dales Community Pop Choir travelled to Leeds last week to attend the 31st Yorkshire Awards gala dinner at the Hilton.
At the awards, which hosted by the Yorkshire Society, the group was presented with the Richard Whiteley Award which is given to the person or group that has given outstanding inspiration to others within the county.
The choir was presented with the award by actress and the late TV presenter’s partner, Kathryn Apanowicz.
The 40 members of the choir who travelled to the awards performed a short piece at the event.
The following day they held a performance at the Trinity Centre in Leeds.
Other award winners were included Arch Bishop John Sentamu, who received a lifetime achievement award, rugby player Rob Burrow and poet laureate Simon Armitage.
The choir has more than 50 members.
Rehearsals take place on Thursday evenings during term time, 7.45pm to 9.15pm at the Methodist Hall, Leyburn.
