A group of Richmondshire friends are nearing their £14,000 fundraising target as they travel to London to take part in a night-time walk.
The Dales Divas, aka the Double Ds, are raising as much money as possible for breast cancer charity Walk the Walk.
All 11 members of the group have been directly and indirectly affected by breast cancer and say they want to do what they can to help tackle the disease.
This story continues after the adverts:
Members will join hundreds of other men and women for the MoonWalk on Saturday night, which is a sponsored walk on Clapham Common in London.
Three members of the group – Kim Duke, Alison Laws and Denise Read – will then take on the London2Brighton challenge – a walk of 100km to be completed overnight – on May 26.
The group have already held a masquerade ball and taken part in other fundraising challenges.
They have already raised more than £13,700 – just a few hundred pounds short of their £14,000 target.
